The timeline from scripture estimates that he was crucified at 9am, that darkness covered the land at noon and that he died at 2pm after suffering six hours on the cross. A terrible earthquake followed after his death. The disciples had to work fast to prepare his body according to Jewish traditions and lay him down in a nearby tomb owned by a wealthy man named Joseph of Arimathea before 18:00 when the Sabbath started.
